What problems can occur if the bag size is not suitable?

Inappropriate bag size is a common hidden danger in the operation of dust collectors,which can cause failures in various aspects such as bag sealing,mechanical friction,airflow distribution,and dust cleaning effect.Mild cases can lead to premature failure of filter bags,abnormal resistance of dust collectors,and severe cases can cause dust leakage and equipment shutdown.Different size deviations(too long,too short,too wide/too narrow)correspond to different problems,which can be divided into three core fault impacts as follows:

If the size of the bag is too long or too long is reserved during installation,it will directly cause mechanical friction between the filter bag and equipment components,and interfere with the normal unloading of the ash hopper.The bottom of the excessively long filter bag will sag into the interior of the ash hopper,coming into contact with metal components such as the ash hopper wall,ash discharge valve,and vibrator.The airflow disturbance and equipment vibration during the operation of the dust collector will cause continuous friction between the bottom of the filter bag and these components,quickly thinning and breaking the filter bag,forming a dust leakage point;If the filter bag is too long and buried in the ash hopper,it will also cause the ash to adhere to the bottom of the filter bag,block the ventilation channel of the filter bag,and affect the smoothness of the ash hopper unloading,which can easily cause ash bridging and further increase the overall resistance of the dust collector.In addition,excessively long filter bags do not fit tightly with the cage bones,resulting in wrinkles and looseness.When cleaning,high-pressure airflow cannot evenly blow off the dust on the surface of the filter bag,causing the dust layer to solidify and exacerbating the problems of bag sticking and blockage.

If the bag size is too short,it will damage the sealing performance of the filter bag,causing airflow short circuit and dust bypass,greatly reducing the dust removal efficiency.The sealing core of the filter bag relies on the tight fit between the bag mouth and the flower board.Filter bags with too short a size will be in a stretched and tight state after installation.Under long-term operation,the filter fiber will experience fatigue aging and fracture due to continuous stress,and the bag mouth sealing gasket will also lose its sealing effect due to stretching deformation,causing dusty flue gas to directly pass through the gap between the bag mouth and the flower board,enter the clean air chamber without filtration,and form a"short circuit of air flow".The dust concentration at the outlet of the dust collector exceeds the standard,and the dust removal efficiency decreases significantly.At the same time,a too short filter bag will expose the top of the cage bone to the smoke,making it easy for dust to adhere to the cage bone and solidify.This not only causes the cage bone to rust and deform,but also increases the filtering load of the surrounding filter bags,causing high local resistance and damaging other filter bags.

If the diameter of the bag is too wide or too narrow,it will affect the accuracy of the fit between the filter bag and the cage bone,leading to chain problems such as filter bag damage and dust removal failure.A filter bag with a diameter that is too wide will have a large number of folds when placed on the cage bone.Dust is prone to accumulate at the folds,and the airflow cannot blow through the dust layer inside the folds during dust cleaning.Over time,it will form a blockage and cause the resistance of the filter bag to continue to increase;At the same time,the filter material at the folds will repeatedly rub against the cage bone due to airflow disturbance,resulting in shedding and damage.A filter bag with a diameter that is too narrow will be forcibly stretched during installation,causing the fibers of the filter material to be stretched and broken.The physical strength of the filter bag will be greatly reduced,and the high-pressure spraying during dust cleaning and the impact of airflow during operation will quickly cause the filter bag to break.Moreover,a filter bag with a narrow diameter will be too tightly attached to the cage bone,and the dust layer on the surface of the filter bag cannot fall off normally during dust cleaning.The dust cleaning effect will be greatly reduced,further exacerbating the accumulation of dust and abnormal resistance.In addition,excessive overall deviation in the size of filter bags can lead to uneven arrangement of filter bags inside the dust collector,disrupting the uniformity of airflow distribution.Local areas with high wind speeds can cause local erosion and wear of filter bags,ultimately shortening their overall service life.
